Floating Support Service

The Hull Floating Support Service provides practical and emotional support to anyone, 18 years and over who experiences mental health problems.
What is Hull Floating Support?
The support is offered within the clients own home within Hull. The service is limited to a maximum of 2 years and delivered flexibly to meet client need within this time. The service works primarily between Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, but also has the advantage to work at evenings and weekends to meet the need of the service user.
What type of support is offered?
The main areas of support are budgeting, bill paying, cooking, cleaning, fulfilling ambitions – vocationally or educationally, good neighbour skills, advocacy and confidence building. The service promotes and encourages the client to participate in their own support, identifying their problem areas and setting achievable goals.
The service has been running since February 2003 and has expanded in staff numbers and support places offered due to a continued demand and success of the service.
