Get Involved

Hull & East Yorkshire Mind is always eager for people to get involved with the charity and help out in what ever way possible.

How can you get involved?

There are many ways that you can become involved with HEY Mind...

 Become a Trustee

People using our services are encouraged to become Trustees. As a Trustee you would become part of our Executive Committee. This Committee is a group of volunteers who act as legal trustees and oversee the management of Hull & East Yorkshire Mind.

If you are interested, there is an application process which would look at your experiences and skills. We can support you with these applications and provide training.

 Become a Member

Joining Hull and East Yorkshire Mind as a member enables you to give something back to a local charity that you believe in. Becoming a member has various benefits and keeps you informed with news/updates.

 Become a Volunteer

As a volunteer for Hull & East Yorkshire Mind, you may have an active role in assisting with the day-to-day running of the organisation, raising awareness, fundraising, and providing support to individuals and groups.

 Become involved in staff training

You are the experts! The staff team would be happy for you to share your experiences to help in the training of Hull & East Yorkshire Mind staff.

 Get involved with Steering Groups, Focus Groups and Liaison meetings

Some of our projects have meetings which help to evaluate and improve our services. Your help would be a valuable contribution.

 Get involved in User-led activities and meetings

Some of our projects include user-led sessions. For example, user-led Support Groups and Art sessions. Some of our projects have dedicated user meetings for you to be able to put across your view of services.

 Help the recruitment and selection process

We encourage users to undertake training for the recruitment and selection process. This will mean that users are able to actively contribute towards job specification development and the appointment of our teams.

 Help us to evaluate and monitor our services

At Hull & East Yorkshire Mind we need to know what you think of our services. Let us know what you think through evaluation forms, discussion groups, questionnaires and suggestion boxes.

 Help us reduce stigma and discrimination

Through local and national campaigns & events, Hull and East Yorkshire Mind would welcome your support to promote the message of good mental health for all.
