ACE Project Update!
An update from the ACE project
Group 13
Working in partnership with the charity Action for Children, Group 13 organised two events for the young carers of Hull. The first event was a ‘Messy Day’ for young carers aged 6 to 10 years, which took place at Spring Bank Community Centre. The young carers were provided with a day of art & craft activities, lunch and live entertainment by the magnificent 'Puzzling Paul. For the second event, the group wanted to provide a day of respite for young carers aged 11+ and so organised a trip to Flamingo Land.
Group 14
Group 14 successfully organised a fundraising event for the local eating disorder charity SEED. The event which took place in Queen Victoria Square provided the people of Hull with a live dance performance from Hull College's performing arts students, a tombola with gifts kindly donated by local businesses, including Prince's Quay, Boots and Lush. The group also organised a raffle to win a mountain bike which was kindly donated by Morfitt Cycles of Willerby. The day was a great success and the event managed to raise awareness on eating disorders and much needed funds for the charity.
