Hull & East Yorkshire Mind offers a wide range of quality services to improve mental health and well being across Hull & East Yorkshire offering support to those experiencing both long term and enduring and mild to moderate mental ill health.
Core Mental Health Services
The Gateway
Our Vision is to provide support and information to the local community, offering an individual and flexible service to improve and promote the community’s well being. This is achieved by offering courses, a range of activities, group and one-to-one support and drop-ins. Through partnership working with agencies and outreach work, we aim to reduce the stigma of mental ill health and provide open access to the services offered by The Gateway.

Housing and Floating Support
Support ranges from lower level ‘minimum’ support in hostels, to higher level Floating Support. Service users are supported, with work focussing on money management, social inclusion, domestic skills, personal/family relationships, education and training. Referrals are made directly to the Housing team via many agencies including Community Mental Health Teams, Social Service and GP’s.

Training and Employment
Vocational Support
All the projects offer different methods of support for to tackle poor mental health in the area. The recent economic downturn has caused a lot more pressure on individuals and families, with depression and anxiety on the increase. The Training & Employment projects can help people get back into work, achieve personal goals and overcome fears.

MindWorks Training
HEY Mind can offer services to businesses looking to pro-actively tackle the issue of stress and educate staff in the area of mental health. MindWorks, the training arm of HEY Mind, can offer away day or in-house bespoke training days at competitive prices.

Working with young people
LINX
Hull and East Yorkshire Mind’s LINX House provide 24 hour intensive support for young people between the ages of 16 and 35, experiencing first episode psychosis. Based in a pleasant, central location in Hull LINX house provides 7 self contained flats plus a communal lounge, laundry facility, and a garden with sitting areas, greenhouse and vegetable plot.

ACE
ACE is a new and exciting project run by Hull & East Yorkshire Mind with funding from v, the continuation of the Millennium Volunteers scheme. The project aims to introduce 16-25 year olds in Hull to volunteering and its many benefits. So far, ACE has given volunteer groups the opportunity design their own website, perform a play at Hull University and organise events at The Lamp in Hull!

Arts in Mind
Hull & East Yorkshire Mind’s Arts In Mind project is a fun, interactive project that offers vulnerable children in Hull the opportunity to increase their self-esteem, confidence and emotional wellbeing by engaging with a wide range of art forms.

Social Prescribing
POINT is a 2-year pilot project employing 3 POINT workers, each assigned to a Hull PCT locality; East, West and North, providing an information and signposting service to up to 300 clients per locality per year. POINT workers take referrals from designated GP practices across the city.

As well as the HEY Mind HQ in Hull, offices in Goole, Beverley, and Bridlington aim to support people with mental health difficulties, their families, and carers through one-to-one support, signposting, information services, personal development courses, and various social, educational, and recreational support groups.

Healthy Living - PACE
People and community exercise (PACE) of Hull and East Yorkshire Mind are part of the national time to change campaign and have been funded to increase levels of physical activity through diverse and challenging projects within the Hull and Holderness area. PACE run projects such as Disc Golf, Street Dancing and farming work!
